The EU-Türkiye Customs Cooperation Committee (CCC) has decided on the mutual recognition of the parties' Authorised Economic Operator (AEO MRA) programmes.
The arrangement enhances supply-chain security and facilitates legitimate trade by mutually recognising trusted-trader programmes and encouraging closer cooperation between customs administrations. Customs authorities may now take an operator's trusted-trader status into account in risk assessments and when determining the level of control to be applied.
The arrangement is an important step towards strengthening customs cooperation within the existing legal framework of the EU-Türkiye Customs Union, and will bring tangible facilitation to businesses operating in both markets.
